Well, I guess being tagged is a good way to get me to post on my blog about something kind of interesting! I think my blog has got to be the most boring blog! Thanks Michele for tagging me, here we go...
1. Where did I meet my husband?
At Bridal Veil Falls in Provo Canyon, UT. I was roommates with a girl that grew up with his roommate. My friends and I had decided to have a "girls only" bonfire, but his annoying roommate invited himself. He told Dan (who usually stayed home to study- he worked and finished 2 associates degrees, a bachelors degree, flight school, and a 4 month flight development course in 3 years... and got married!) "lets go meet some chicks".
2. What was the first thing you said to your husband?
I dont really remember talking with him too much that first night. I saw him a week or so later when we went out with a big group of friends. I totally fell for him, he ignored me and flirted with another girl! I strategically asked for a ride home, and I gave him my phone number... about 4 times over the next few weeks! I believe his roommate finally said "dude, you know she likes you right?". We had our first kiss later that night!!!
3. Where was your first date?
The next night was the best first date I have ever heard of! Dan picked me up and we went out for Mexican food (my very favorite). After dinner he took me flying in a 4 seater piper warrior plane. We took off over Utah Lake during the sunset, the sight was beautiful! The flight was so exciting, scary, and thrilling...my mom was really mad at me when I told her I went up in a little plane! After our flight we took a walk and ended up talking almost all night long!
4. Where was your first kiss?
In my apartment at Liberty Square. We had watched Days Of Thunder with my cousin Michele and her date. After they left Dan kissed me before he left to go home. The kiss was very memorable!
5. Did you have a long or short courtship/engagement?
Our courtship was definitely short. We dated only 5 weeks before becoming engaged on June 17th, 2002. We were married later that year on December 14th (about 6 months).
6. Where did you get engaged?
While Dan and I were dating Dan bought a little fishing/row boat. We loved to pack a picnic and go to Payson Lake to row around in the boat and have a bonfire on the shore. Dan and I made our way up that night where another couple was supposed to meet us. The other couple never showed so Dan had to talk me into heaving the very heavy boat into the lake with him (it takes 2 people to do). I told him we should just go home! As we were on the lake he started to talk sweet to me, and I kept changing the subject! Needless to say I was surprised when he told me I should focus and asked me to marry him. The second we got down the mountain and I had a signal I called my parents and then my cousin Michele. She was in Chicago for the summer, I think my Aunt Deb thought someone had died because it was probably around 2 am there!
7. Where did you get married?
We were married in Southern California and then sealed in the Jordan River Temple in Utah. What a sweet experience it was to go to the temple with my husband to be sealed together forever. It was one of the best days of my life.
8. How did the reception go?
It was beautiful. We had the reception at my parents house in California, my parents decked the whole place out. I think the reception reflected the two of us, I loved that we did everything nontraditional. We had no line and a dessert buffet instead of a cake. We were so complemented that so many of the people we love made it to California to be with us. It meant a lot that so many of the people that are important to us were there. We had an open house in Utah about one month later, Dan's mother Leslie did an amazing job! We were so lucky to have two great receptions!
9. How was the Honeymoon?
For starters, on our wedding night we got to the hotel and the people in the room next to us were practicing for some concert. They sang Mary Did You Know over and over and over. Later that night while we were asleep I became very ill. Dan had no idea when I ripped the covers off and proceeded to barf all over his back! I was really upset and embarrassed! He called down to the front desk and said "I'm going to need some clean sheets, my wife is sick". All I could focus on was the "my wife"! (unfortunately for Dan, this barfing on the back thing wasn't a one time experience over the last 5 years!) We went on a cruise to Mexico. We enjoyed the time together, but I HATED the food. Dan swears everytime I talk about the cruise the story gets worse!
I cant believe that this year is our 5th anniversary! We have been blessed with so much happiness, and fortunately, the trials havent been too tough either!
p.s. if my pictures were not in storage I would also post my engagment picture!

How fun! I actually didn't know all of that! It is so funny to read how people meet and how they progress to getting married! I don't even remember what your engagement pictures look like!!! But the one from Gabby is so cute!
I just thought about you and your cruise. I ran into someone that is a cruise fan but had a really bad experience. Then, we are planning a sisters weekend and a cruise was tossed around. Uhm, your opinion swayed me. I have to have good food. AND not weird food. :)
left this off- so no cruise!
